From August 2nd to 6th,2021 the priests and brothers of the Canons Regular were once again able to gather for their annual retreat at a Marian shrine and retreat center in rural Wisconsin.
The retreat master this year was Fr. Sebastian Walshe, O.Praem., a Norbertine of St. Michael’s Abbey in Orange County, California where he is a professor of philosophy for their seminary program. Originally from Pasadena, Fr. Sebastian studied at Thomas Aquinas College in California, The Catholic University of America in Washington D.C., and at the Pontifical University of St. Thomas at Rome (the Angelicum).
We thank all of you for your prayers for a fruitful retreat, as well as the substitute priests, who offered Masses throughout the week. This brief time away from our parishes provided a time of prayer and reflection, strengthened the bonds between the members of our community, and helped us focus on our lives as priests and religious.
On the last day of the retreat, Fr. Sebastian celebrated a Solemn High Mass in the Extraordinary Form for the Feast of the Transfiguration at an altar on the shrine grounds.
