Eucharist and Sacrifice

Sam Guzman in his talk entitled, "The Weapon of Thanksgiving: Living Eucharistically in Everyday Life",  reminds us of the practical ways a Eucharistic life co-joined with sacrifice instills in us joy and the desire to praise God in thanksgiving. I'm reminded here of my ethics professor, Don Demarco, who once said in his Philosophy of Discontent class in the 1980's -- that the little deaths (struggles and sacrifices) prepare us, streghten us and give us life. Conversely, avoidance of "little deaths" and turning towards convenience and ease -- leads to death. So we should remain in a posture of gratitude trusting in the Lord.

Eucharistic love is love that desires the good of another and is willing to be crucified for that love. AMDG!
